A petition under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 has been filed on behalf of the petitioner for extension of mandate of the learned Arbitrator by 18 months, to which learned counsel for the respondent has no objection.

The record shows that the learned Arbitrator for the first time commenced the proceedings in August, 2016 after which there has been various dates and change of the learned Arbitrator by the Orders of the Apex Court dated 24.11.2020. Even thereafter, the matter has been going on. It is asserted that the matter is at the stage of respondents' evidence, therefore, time is sought for extension of the mandate by 18 months. 3.
