Learned APP accepts notice for respondent no. 1.

Respondent no.2 Ms. Nancy Maan is present in Court along with her uncle Mr. Devender Maan and accepts notice.

She has been identified by SI Sandeep Kumar of police station Alipur.

It is submitted that at the time when FIR No. 24/2017 under Section 354(D) IPC and Section 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act, 2012 was registered at police station Alipur, respondent no. 2 was aged about 17 years. Presently, she is 19 years of age. Respondent no.2 submits that she has settled the matter with petitioner of her own free will

and without any undue force, pressure or coercion. Respondent no. 2 says that she has no objection in case aforesaid FIR and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Affidavit of respondent no. 2 to this effect is also on record.

Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the petitioner and respondent no. 2 voluntarily, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, aforesaid FIR and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Petition is disposed of in the above terms. Miscellaneous applications are disposed of as infructuous. Dasti.
