The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying as under:- "i) To grant the refund amounting to Rs.25,17,047/- determined vide order dated 22.01.2025 /s 143(1) of the Act along with interest for delayed issue of refund u/s 244A of the Income Tax Act."

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that soon after the present petition was filed, the amount of ₹25,17,047/- was refunded. However, the said refund was credited on 10.03.2025. He further submits that since the disbursal of the refund is delayed, the petitioner is also entitled to interest.

found that the petitioner is entitled to further interest, disburse the same. However, if the concerned authority is of the view that no further interest is payable, it shall pass a speaking order and communicate the same to the petitioner within six weeks from date.
