O R D E R

This is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 Cr.P.C./528 BNSS for issuance of directions to the respondents to grant parole to the petitioner for a period of four weeks from the date of his release.

Petitioner has been convicted under Section 302/34 IPC and has been sentenced to undergo life imprisonment in case FIR No.4447/96, PS Bhajanpura, under Section 302/34 IPC.

The learned counsel for petitioner submits that petitioner has made a representation to the respondent for grant of parole on the ground of his eye surgery but till date, no reply has been received from the respondent on the request so made.

convict issued by the Senior Medical Officer, Dispensary, Central Jail, Tihar.

The report reveals that the convict was referred to DDU Hospital for cataract surgery and that his general medical condition is stable and all the prescribed medicines are being provided to him from jail dispensary. 6.

The status report sent by the Superintendent Jail No.2, Tihar, New Delhi, further reveals that the son of the petitioner namely Mr. Naval Singh has moved an application dated 03.03.2025 for the grant of parole to the petitioner for a period of four weeks on the same ground i.e., eye surgery directly before the Principal Secretary (Home), Govt. of NCT of Delhi. 7.

The said application has been forwarded to the jail authorities vide letter dated 07.03.2025 with request to send all the required documents as per Jail Prison Rule, 2018.

Since, the son of the petitioner has already moved an application for parole before the Govt. of NCT of Delhi and report/documents have been called for the said purpose from Tihar Jail as per the Delhi Prison Rule, the petition is disposed of with direction to the respondent to dispose of such application filed by the son of the petitioner for parole within a period of 10 days.

Copy of this order be sent to Superintendent Jail for information and necessary compliance.
