Mr.Akshay Makhija, learned CGSC, who is present in the Court, is requested to accept the notice on behalf of the respondent no.1. This petition has been filed praying for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to reconstitute the Committee formed pursuant to the order dated 21.10.2019 passed by the Supreme Court in M.A. No. 1384/2019 in SLP (C) No. 7500/2019, titled Guru Ravidas Jainti Samaroh Samiti (Regd.) v. Union of India & Ors.
By the abovementioned order, the Supreme Court had directed as under:
"The aforesaid offer is reasonable and accordingly, it is ordered that let the Committee of the devotees be constituted by the Union of India. The members of the earlier Samiti i.e. Guru Ravidas Jainti Samaroh Samiti including other interested persons are also free to file representation for the inclusion in the Committee to be formed by the Union of India. However, it will be the discretion of the Union of India to constitute a Committee as it may consider appropriate."
The petitioners assert that the petitioners have a good case for appointment in the said Committee. It is further asserted that the petitioners have made representation in this regard to the respondent no.1, however, not received any response.
In view of the submissions made, the respondent no.1 is directed to consider the representation of the petitioners, if not already done, in terms of the order of the Supreme Court referred hereinabove. The petition is disposed of in the above terms, with no order as to costs.
