Fresh Status Report has been filed by the SHO, Bhajanpura, Delhi stating inter alia that Nitin Sharma, fiancé of the missing girl, Nishi Sharma, was interrogated at his residence on 04.03.2019. He only stated that he was engaged with Nishi Sharma on 18.10.2018 and their marriage ceremony was to take place on 12.12.2018 but it was postponed by Nishi Sharma's father, without offering any reason. The sister-in-law of Nitin Sharma was also interrogated, who corroborated his statement. No other material information has come upon the police for tracing the missing girl. W.P.(CRL) 557/2019

Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the names of three suspects furnished to the police by the petitioner, i.e., Sanjeet, S/o. Satyaprakash, Surender, S/o. Indraj and Sandeep Bainsla, S/o. Bhagwandas have criminal antecedents and there is a strong possibility that they have kidnapped the petitioner's daughter.

Mr. Rahul Mehra, Standing Counsel (Crl.) states that the police shall take urgent steps to verify the antecedents of the aforesaid three suspects. He clarifies that all of them were interrogated in January, 2019 and they had stated that they did not know anything about the whereabouts of the missing girl.

On enquiring from learned counsel for the petitioner if there are any other clues available, he states, as of now, no fresh clue is available. 5.

The presence of the petitioner is dispensed with. 6.

Fresh Status Report shall be filed before the next date of hearing. 7.

List on 28.03.2019.
