A representation has been filed on behalf of the petitioner on 18th March, 2026 calling upon the respondent/ECI to reduce the thirty (30) days' period to seven (7) days.

Attention of the Court has been drawn to the orders passed by this Court on 17th March, 2026 in W.P.(C) 3431/2026 titled as G Nehru v. Election Commission of India and W.P.(C) 3317/2026 titled as Aam Janata Unnayan Party v. Election Commission of India, wherein similar relief was sought.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that there is a grave urgency in the matter as the dates for elections in the State of Tamil Nadu have been announced.

Accordingly, the present writ petition is disposed of while directing the respondent/ECI to decide the representation of the petitioner within two (2) days from today.
