% 10.02.2020 CRL.M.A. 2998/2020 1.

Allowed, subject to all just exceptions.

W.P.(CRL) 401/2020 2.

The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to respondent no.1 to protect their lives and properties. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, state that the petitioners have married contrary to the wishes of family member of petitioner no.1. They submit that petitioner no.1's father (respondent no.2) has not accepted their marriage and has been issuing threats to the petitioners. 3.

The learned counsel further states that there is an error in the prayer clause inasmuch as it refers to six respondents, however, only two

respondents - the State and the father of petitioner no. 1-have been arrayed as respondents in the present petition.

4.

In view of the averments made in the present petition, this Court considers it apposite to direct the petitioners to appear before the SHO (PS Ranhola). The concerned SHO shall examine the petitioners' threat perception and take such steps as he considers necessary. The SHO shall provide the mobile number of the beat staff in order to enable the petitioners to contact them in case of any eventuality. In case any complaint is filed by the petitioners, the SHO shall enquire into the same and take such steps as warranted in accordance with law.
