This petition has been filed seeking quashing of FIR No. 163/2022 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC PS Mehrauli basis settlement dated 16th September, 2023 arrived at with the facilitation of the Mediation Centre, Saket Courts, New Delhi, which is on record of this Court. 2.
As per the settlement, the final outstanding amount is Rs.2 Lacs, out of which Rs.1 Lac has been paid previously on 21st May, 2024 and the balance amount of Rs.1 Lac is being tendered vide DD No.486022 drawn on Bank of Maharashtra to respondent No.2, who receives the same in Court. Respondent No.2 states that she has no objection to the quashing of the said FIR. Petitioner Nos.1-6 and respondent No.2 are present in Court and duly identified by the IO.

The marriage of petitioner No.1 and respondent No.2 has now resulted in a divorce by decree dated 20th January, 2024. Considering the above settlement between the parties and the chances of conviction of the petitioners being remote and bleak, there is no use continuing with proceedings of the present FIR as it would be a misuse of the process of the Court and an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. Accordingly, the petition is allowed. Consequently, the FIR No. 163/2022 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC PS Mehrauli and proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Parties shall abide by the terms of settlement. 6.
Accordingly, the petition is disposed of. Pending applications (if any) are disposed of as infructuous.
