This is a petition under Section 29A(4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the learned Arbitrator.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that even though the learned Arbitrator had entered reference on 31.07.2017, after which the parties have been diligently participating in the proceedings, the arbitral proceedings have still not concluded. She further submits that since the mandate of the learned Arbitrator expired on 07.02.2020, further time of six months be granted to the parties for conclusion of the arbitral proceedings and rendering of the award. 3.
Learned counsel for the respondent does not oppose the said prayer.

With the consent of the parties and keeping in view the fact that much time and labour has already been spent in the arbitration proceedings, time for completion of the arbitral proceedings and rendering of Award is extended till 31st August, 2020 reckoned from 08.02.2020.
