% 26.05.2026 Pursuant to notice issued vidé order dated 27.03.2026, the State has filed Status Report dated 08.04.2026 in the matter. 2.

Mr. Hirein Sharma, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits, that his limited prayer today is only for transfer of investigation in case FIR No.0056/2026 dated 22.02.2026 registered under sections 115(2)/126(2)/351(2)/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 at P.S.: Badarpur, South-East Delhi to the Crime Branch. Learned counsel submits, that despite the seriousness of the consequences that have befallen the petitioner, the police have not investigated the matter in right earnest.

Mr. Sharma submits, that as evidenced by Disability Certificate issued on 14.05.2026, the petitioner has suffered loss of vision in his right eye, which has been certified as being 30% permanent disability. A copy of the disability certificate has been handed-up to the court. The same is taken on record.

Mr. Sanjay Lao, learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents submits, that subject to what have been stated in the status report, they do not oppose the prayer for transfer of investigation. 5.

Considering the contours of the matter and the limited nature of the prayer made, the present petition is disposed-of, with a direction that the investigation in FIR No.0056/2026 dated 22.02.2026 registered under sections 115(2)/126(2)/351(2)/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 at P.S.: Badarpur, South-East Delhi shall be transferred from P.S.: Badarpur to P.S.: Crime Branch forthwith. 6.

Let the police file of the case be transferred to the Crime Branch for being assigned to an appropriate officer within 10 days. 7.

Needless to add that the subject FIR is required to be investigated thoroughly.

The petition stands disposed-of in the above terms. 9.
