The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that the respondent be directed to release the petitioner who is currently lodged in Central Jail, Mandawali, Delhi serving a life sentence. 4.

The nominal roll has been furnished, which indicates that the petitioner has served actual custody of ten years and eight months as on 11.02.2020 and during this period, he has earned remission of two years and one month. The petitioner's conduct during the said period is also reported to be satisfactory. During the aforesaid period, the petitioner has never been

released on parole or furlough.

The petitioner was sentenced by an order dated 30.06.2014 for the offences under Sections 120-B and 302 of the IPC Sections 364A and 392 of the IPC. The petitioner's appeal (Crl. Appeal No. 1131/2014) against his conviction was dismissed by this Court by an order dated 20.11.2019. The petitioner seeks parole, inter alia, on the ground that he is required to file an SLP against the decision of this Court dismissing his appeal. 6.

The learned counsel appearing for the respondent states that the petitioner's address has been verified and his application for parole is under consideration. In view of the above, this Court considers it apposite to direct the concerned authority to decide the petitioner's application as expeditiously as possible and in any event, within a period of three weeks from today and communicate the same to the petitioner. 7.
