By filing the present writ petition, the petitioner is praying of issuance of directions to the State/R-1 to R-3 to provide protection to the petitioner and his family members from respondents No.4 to 8. 2.
Status report has been filed by the State/R-1 to R-3 mentioning therein that during the course of inquiry it was revealed that petitioner and respondents No.4 to 8 are neighbours and used to make complaints against each other on petty issues. It is further mentioned in the status report that preventive action has already been taken by initiating proceedings under Section 107/150 Cr.P.C.

Learned ASC for the State submits that though preventive action has W.P.(CRL) 112/2016
already been taken in the matter but in case of need the petitioner can contact the local police and necessary protection shall be provided to the petitioner through Beat Constable of the area, after assessing the element of threat, if any.

In the given facts and circumstances as well as in view of the status report filed and submissions made on behalf of the State, the writ petition is disposed of. However, the petitioner may contact the local police in case he apprehends any threat.
