The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondent/Election Commission of India (ECI) to allot a common free symbol under para 10B of the Election Symbols (Reservation & Allotment) Order, 1968, within a period of two (2) days from today. 2.

It is stated that as per the election schedule, the date for commencement of nomination is 30th March 2026 and the last date for filing nominations is 6th April 2026.

Earlier, the petitioner had approached this Court by a writ petition, being W.P.(C) 2881/2026, which was disposed of on 9th March, 2026, directing the respondent/ECI to process the application filed by the W.P.(C) 4080/2026 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. Subsequently, there were communications sent by the respondent/ECI to the petitioner, pointing out deficiencies in the application of the petitioner. The petitioner has replied to the said communications with the latest communication being of 25th March 2026, sent by the petitioner to the respondent/ECI.

Sanjay Vashishtha, counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent/ECI, on advance notice, submits that the aforesaid communication dated 25th March 2026 of the petitioner shall be considered within two (2) days from today.
