It is acknowledged by the petitioner that the medical bills submitted have since been reimbursed to her. However, she requests that there should be a clear direction to the respondent that the reimbursement of the bills should be done within a period of 30 days of submitting the bills since these proceedings took about a year. 2.

Learned counsel for the respondent submits that the petitioner should be directed to ensure that the treatment of her daughter is taken from the hospitals/institutions, which forms a part of the approved list in accordance with the Rules.

Having heard the petitioner and learned counsel for the respondents, the present contempt petition is disposed as the directions of this Court stands satisfied, albeit belatedly. It is observed that there has been an unexplained delay of more than a year in settling the bills. medical bills for reimbursement in accordance with the Rules, the department shall ensure that the said bills are approved and reimbursement is made in accordance with the relevant Rules within 45 days of the submission of the bills.

It is further provided that in case the bills are not processed and not approved for reimbursement within 45 days, the Senior Accounts Officer shall be responsible for payment of the penalty of Rs. 500/- per day of default, which would be reimbursed from his salary. The pending applications also stand disposed of.
