This is a petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of time for completion of the arbitral proceedings and rendering an award. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that upon the disputes having arisen between the parties in relation to the construction and commissioning of 250 Aam Aadmi Mahalla Clinic, arbitration proceedings had been invoked by the petitioner. Consequently, Shri K.K. Peshin (Retd.) ADJ, CPWD had entered reference as the sole Arbitrator on 04.08.2018. Despite the parties'

diligent participation, the arbitration has not concluded and, in the meanwhile, the mandate of the learned Arbitrator expired on 02.02.2020. He, therefore, prays for extension of the mandate of the learned Arbitrator by a period of six months. 4.

Issue notice. Learned counsel for the respondent accepts notice and does not oppose the petition.

Keeping in view the fact that much time and labour has already been invested in the proceedings, the time for completion of arbitration and rendering of an award is extended by a period of six months, effective from 03.02.2020.
