% 30.03.2026 By way of the present petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondent/State, that the petitioner's name be considered for premature release at the next meeting of the Sentence Review Board ('SRB'). Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits, that the petitioner's case was last considered by the SRB vide its Meeting dated 21.12.2023, at which stage, his case for premature release was rejected. The petitioner has also undergone more than 21 years of actual judicial custody, not counting remission.
