% 26.06.2020 [Hearing held through videoconferencing] CRL.M.A. 8244/2020 1.

This is an application filed on behalf of the petitioner seeking modification of the order dated 18.02.2020 as modified by the order dated 24.02.2020. The petitioner seeks modification of the said order to the limited extent of reducing in the amount of personal bond and the cash surety. 2.

The petitioner states that he does not have the means to fulfil the said condition of providing of personal bond in the sum of ₹20,000/- and a cash surety in the like amount.

3.

For the reasons stated in the application, the same is allowed. The order dated 18.02.2020 is modified to the limited extent of reducing the amount of personal bond and cash surety of ₹10,000/- instead of ₹20,000/-. 4.

Considering the outbreak of COVID-19, this Court also considers it apposite to modify the condition imposed on the petitioner to report to the local police station in person. Instead of reporting peronally the petitioner can contact a local police station at Orissa telephonically.

5.

Paragraph 8 of the said order dated 18.02.2020 is modified to read as under:- "8. In view of the above, the petitioner is directed to be released on parole for a period of four weeks from the date of his release on furnishing a Personal Bond in the sum of ₹10,000/- with a cash surety of the like amount subject to the satisfaction of the Jail Superintendent. The petitioner shall provide his mobile number and ensure that he is reachable at all times. The petitioner shall proceed directly to his native place in Orissa, immediately on his release, and telephonically report to the local police station at Orissa. He shall remain at his native place till his return to Delhi. On his return, he shall immediately surrender to the concerned authorities before the expiry of the period of parole." 6.

A copy of this order be communicated to the concerned Jail Authorities electronically.
