1. The present Petition has been filed under Section 29-A(4) read with Section 29-A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, seeking an extension of the mandate for a period of four months for the conclusion of the arbitral proceedings pending adjudication before the Ld. Arbitral Tribunal.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the Ld. Sole arbitrator was appointed vide order dated 20.05.2021. It is further submitted that the Petitioner herein preferred a Petition under Section 29-A(4) of the Act, thereby, seeking an extension of the mandate of the Ld. Arbitral Tribunal by six months and this Court allowed the said Petition vide order dated 21.08.2023 in O.M.P. (MISC.)(COMM.)NO. 276 of 2023 and granted an extension to the mandate of the Ld. till 31.03.2024.

3. It is submitted that the arguments before the Ld. Arbitral Tribunal has been concluded as on 21.12.2023 and now the Ld. Arbitrator has to conclude the proceedings.

4. Learned counsel for the respondent submits that he has no objection to the extension of the mandate of the Ld. Arbitral tribunal.

5. In view of the above, the mandate of the Ld. Arbitral Tribunal is extended for a further period of four months i.e., from 01.04.2024 to 31.07.2024.
