This Petition under Section 29A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, has been filed by the Petitioner for extending the mandate of the Sole Arbitrator in the Arbitration proceedings which are going on between the parties.

Material on record indicates that this Court, vide Order dated 11.04.2023, appointed Mr. Amarnath, Ld. District and Session Judge (Retd.), as the Arbitrator, to adjudicate upon the disputes between the parties.

It is stated that the pleadings were complete. It is stated that with the consent of both the parties, the Ld. on 11.11.2024 for a period of six months. It is stated that mandate of the Sole Arbitrator is expiring today i.e. 12.03.2025. The present Petition has, therefore, been filed seeking extension of mandate of the Sole Arbitrator. 4.

It is stated by the learned Counsel for the Petitioner the matter is at the stage of final arguments, therefore, the mandate of the Arbitrator be extended for a period of six months.

Accordingly, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the Sole Arbitrator till 31.12.2025, so that the award can be pronounced and no further extension of time would be required by the Sole Arbitraor. 6.

The Petition is disposed of, along with the pending applications, if any.
