Petitioner seeks a direction for release of the gold Kara, detained by detention receipt dated 23.03.2023 from the Petitioner. Learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that no Show Cause Notice has till date been served on the Petitioner.

Learned counsel for the Respondent disputes the same and submits that the Show Cause Notice dated 22.09.2023 was issued. However, there is no response to the Show Cause Notice from the Petitioner. 3.

Learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that Petitioner had made an application stating that since Petitioner is a British National, the Advocate of the Petitioner was authorized to receive any such Show Cause Notice and respond thereto.

Learned counsel for the Respondent submits that no such letter is available on the record. Cause Notice is being sent over email to the learned counsel for the Petitioner. Learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that service of the Show Cause Notice to the Petitioner be deemed to be service on the Petitioner and he shall accordingly take appropriate steps in respect of the said Show Cause Notice.

Learned Counsel for the Petitioner seeks leave to withdraw the petition, reserving the right of the Petitioner to take appropriate steps in accordance with law as also to impugn any order passed by the competent authority, if aggrieved therefrom.
