The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction that the Railways Act, 1989 should be amended, and a higher amount of compensation should be given to the petitioner no.1, similar to what is granted in a road accident death claim.

It has been explained to the counsel for the petitioners that the relief sought is beyond the jurisdiction of this Court. 3.
In this view, the counsel seeks to withdraw the present writ petition with liberty to pursue alternate remedies as may be available. 4.
Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn with the aforesaid liberty.
