The Inquest report dated 22.08.2025 is handed over in the Court and the same is taken on record.

The learned Magistrate who conducted the inquest proceedings opined that the death of the undertrial prisoner Sanjay Kumar, who was the son of the petitioner, was a homicidal death.

The FIR in regard to the unnatural death of the petitioner's son was registered on 04.03.2022 being FIR No. 146/2022 at Police Station Hauz Khas for offence under Sections 304/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

It is pointed out that during the pendency of the proceedings, the investigation was transferred to Crime Branch and the SIT was formed which is headed by the Assistant Commissioner of Police.

The learned Standing Counsel for the State, on instructions, submits that further action in the form of final report after considering the inquest report will be taken within a period of eight weeks.

In view of the above, no further orders are required to be passed in the present petition at this stage. 7.

The petitioner is not pressing for other relief(s) such as payment of compensation at this stage.

Needless to say, the petitioner is at liberty to approach this Court in case any grievance remains in future. 9.
