The present petition has been filed by the Petitioner- Siddhant Verma under Article 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India inter alia seeking issuance of an appropriate writ directing the Respondent - Commissioner of Customs to release the goods of the Petitioner detained vide Detention Receipt No. 66666 dated 28th December 2024.

The case of the Petitioner is that he was travelling with his wife and six-month-old daughter from Dubai to India on 27th December 2024. The Petitioner, upon arrival, was intercepted by the concerned officials of the Customs Department at the Terminal-3, IGI Airport, New Delhi. The Customs Department seized one gold chain weighing 121 grams and one iPhone 16 Pro Max of the Petitioner and issued a detention receipt for the same. 4.

Ms. Narain, ld. Counsel has sought instructions and submits that the appraisement in this matter has not been done. The Petitioner may appear before the concerned officers on 8th April, 2025 for appraisement along with The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. the documents, upon which the order in accordance with law, shall be passed by the Respondent, within a month.
