The petitioner is an acid attack survivor seeks additional financial assistance of Rs. 1 lakh under the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund over and above the compensation availed under the Victim Compensation Scheme.

It is submitted that the petitioner made representations on 08.11.2024 and reminder was also sent on 09.01.2026, however, no steps have been taken by the respondents.

Issue notice.

Mr. Vijay Joshi, learned counsel for the respondent no.1 appears and accept notice.

Mr. Abhinav Singh, learned counsel who is present in Court is requested, and, accordingly, accepts the notice on behalf of respondent no.2 - the District Magistrate (DM).

Keeping in mind the short controversy, the Court finds that the petition can be disposed of directing the concerned DM to consider the petitioner's pending representation.

Let a copy of this petition along with this order be supplied to learned counsel appearing on behalf the DM, who in turn shall transmit the same to the concerned DM.

Let the DM to take necessary exercise in accordance with extant scheme(s) and once the same is carried out, let the concerned Ministry, thereafter, to pass appropriate order. Let the DM to do the same within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order passed today.
