The petitioner has filed this petition under Article 226 of the Constitution, seeking a direction to the State to provide protection from respondents Nos. 3 and 4 [sons of the petitioner], and also seeking a direction to the Appellate Forum, Divisional Commissioner, to expeditiously decide his pending appeal [Case ID No. 37142]. 2.

110035. He has filed a Civil Suit bearing No. 533/2016 seeking injunction and mesne profits against his sons, which is pending consideration before the Rohini Courts, New Delhi. In the meanwhile, he also filed a Complaint Case bearing No. 525/SC/DC (NW)/2022, under the Delhi Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Rules, 2009, which was dismissed by order dated 07.02.2024, passed by the District Magistrate, District North-West. The District Magistrate declined relief for the reasons stated in the said order. The petitioner has filed an appeal before the Divisional Commissioner, which remains pending.

At this stage, Mr. Arun Kumar Singh, learned counsel for the petitioner, seeks an order expediting the proceedings in appeal. 4.

Mr. Yasir Rauf Ansari, learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State, who appears on advance notice, submits that the Divisional Commissioner will make an endeavour to dispose of the pending appeal as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two months from today.

In view of the above, no further orders are sought in this petition. 6.

The petition, therefore, stands disposed of.
