These are the petitions filed under section 29 A (4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator for a period of 2 months.

The mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator expired on 28.02.2025. 6.

Ms. Das, learned counsel for the petitioner states that the delay in concluding the arbitral proceedings is due to the voluminous records pertaining to the matter. Further, the final arguments on behalf of both the parties have been concluded and the award has also been reserved. 7.

For the said reasons, issue notice. Ms. Majid, learned CGSC appearing for the respondent accepts notice and has no objection to the present petitions being allowed.

I am satisfied that sufficient cause for the delay has been shown. 9.

For the said reasons, the petitions are allowed and the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator is extended by a period of 2 months from today to make and publish the Arbitral Award.

The period from 28.02.2025 till today stands regularized. 11.

The petitions are disposed of accordingly.
