By way of present petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR bearing no. 197/2023, registered at Police Station Maidan Garhi, New Delhi for the commission of offences punishable under Section 509 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC') and Section 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (hereafter 'POCSO Act'). 2.
The petitioner and the mother of the victim are present before this Court through video-conferencing and have been identified by their counsel and concerned Investigating Officer from Police Station Maidan Garhi. 3.

going to gym, she was mentally harassed by the petitioner in the parking. It had been further alleged that the petitioner had stopped the prosecutrix in the middle of the parking, used vulgar language, and had threatened her that she will repay for her parents action. Based on said complaint, the present FIR was registered against the petitioner under the relevant sections. 4.
It is stated that both the parties have amicably settled the present matter. The mother of the victim, who appears through video conferencing, states that she does not want to proceed with the case, as they no longer intend to live in the same locality and are shifting out of Delhi. She further states that in case the proceedings continue, it will also have the potential of further disturbing her daughter. Furthermore, she states that the petitioner has promised that he will not repeat such act in future. She has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Therefore, she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed. It is also stated by the authorized representative of respondent no. 2 that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between the parties with the help of the family members and that the petitioner has apologized.

In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, without any coercion and no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 6.
Accordingly, considering the overall facts and circumstances of the case, FIR bearing No. 197/2023, registered at Police Station Maidan Garhi, The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
New Delhi for the commission of offences punishable under Section 509 of IPC and Section 12 of the POCSO Act and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed, subject to payment of costs of Rs.15,000/- to be deposited by the petitioner with Delhi Police Martyrs' Fund, within a period of seven days from date.

In view of the above, the present petition stands disposed of. Pending application, if any, also stands disposed of. 8.
