The petitioners have filed this petition, under Article 226 of the Constitution, seeking a direction upon the State to provide police protection and security in view of apprehension of threats from the family of petitioner No. 2.

Issue notice. Mr. Amol Sinha, learned Additional Standing Counsel, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. 3.

The petitioners state that they have solemnised their marriage at the Arya Samaj Vaidik Vivah Trust on 11.03.2026. To this effect, a marriage certificate and a marriage registration certificate have also been placed on record. The Aadhar cards of the petitioners have also been placed on record which reveal the date of birth of petitioner No. 1 as 09.10.2001 and of petitioner No. 2 as 30.07.1999. Having regard to the fact that the petitioners have both attained majority, they are entitled to protection from any apprehended threats from their families. Mr. Rajesh, learned counsel for the petitioners, is directed to convey the present place of residence of the petitioners to Mr. Sinha, who states that he will direct the concerned SHO to provide the mobile numbers of the concerned SHO and the beat constable to the petitioners so that they may contact then in the event of any exigency. Additionally if the petitioners are required to shift to any other location, they will coordinate with the concerned SHO so that a similar arrangement can be made by the concerned police station. 5.

Mr. Rajesh additionally requests that the petitioners be provided shelter in a safe house. As far as this aspect is concerned, Mr. Sinha states that he will coordinate with learned counsel for the petitioners to enable them to apply through the appropriate procedure, and the case will be considered in accordance with the prevailing rules. 6.

As no further orders are sought in this petition, the writ petition is disposed of, reserving the rights and remedies of the petitioners.
