This is a petition under Section 29A (4) and (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (hereinafter, 'the Act'). The petition has been filed by the Petitioner- Play Games 24 x 7 Private Limited, seeking extension of the mandate of the arbitral tribunal by a period of twelve months. 4.

Vide order dated 24th November, 2021, this Court in ARB.P. 830/2019, appointed the ld. Sole Arbitrator for resolution of disputes between the parties arising out of the Advertising Agreement dated 9th July, 2018. Thereafter, the pleadings were completed on 21st August, 2022, and The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. the 12 month period prescribed under Section 29A (1) of the Act expired on 21st August, 2023. With the consent of parties, this period was further extended by 6 months, and thus, the mandate of the ld. Sole Arbitrator expired on 21st February, 2024. Considering that the mandate has expired, the Petitioner has filed the present petition. 5.

The arbitral proceedings before the ld. Sole Arbitrator is at the stage of cross-examination of the Respondent's witnesses. The Court has perused the order dated 19th February, 2024, wherein the ld. Sole Arbitrator noted that the time limit for rendering the award is set to expire on 29th February, 2024.

Considering the stage of arbitration, the mandate of the arbitral proceedings is extended by one more year. Ld. Arbitrator shall endeavor to conclude the proceedings as expeditiously as possible. 7.

The present petition is disposed of in the above terms. All pending applications are also disposed of.
