Present writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of directions to the Debts Recovery Appellate Tribunal, New Delhi ("DRAT") to hear the pending appeal bearing number No. 208/2017 titled as Punjab National Bank vs. Kashmeera Carpets &Ors and dispose of the appeal in an expeditious manner, preferably within three months. 2.

Learned counsel for the Petitioners states that the appeal arising out of O.A.No. 839 of 1995 is pending before the DRAT and no effective hearing has taken place in the matter for the last three years. 3.

He states that the Petitioner No.1 is a senior citizen of 81 years of age, and despite being the bona fide purchaser and the lawful owner of the mortgaged property in question, the Petitioner No.l has been engaged in frivolous litigations for the last two decades before the DRT and the DRAT. Issue notice. Mr. Panwar accepts notice on behalf of the respondent. He states that he has no objection to the expeditious disposal of the appeal. 5.

Consequently, this Court directs the DRAT to decide the matter as expeditiously as possible preferably within four months. With the aforesaid direction, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
