Mr. Anandan A. accepts notice on behalf of the respondent. 4.

Learned counsel for the respondent says that he does not wish to file reply to the petition.

This stand is taken by counsel for the respondent as he does not oppose the prayer made in the petition for extension of time for concluding the arbitration proceedings.

I am told by counsel for the parties that via an order dated 11.08.2017, this Court appointed an Arbitrator in the matter. O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 86/2019

It appears that the respondent had challenged the appointment by carrying the matter to the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court, I am told, dismissed the Special Leave Petition filed by the respondent.

The record shows that the first effective hearing before the learned Arbitrator was held on 30.06.2018.

The statutory 12 months period expired, evidently, on 05.09.2018. 11.

Counsel for the parties inform me that thereafter, by mutual consent, the time for concluding arbitration proceedings was extended by a further period of 6 months which expired on 05.03.2019. 12.

Counsel for the parties say that the matter is at the stage of evidence. 13.

Having regard to the time and money invested by the parties, I am inclined to extend the time by another two months, as prayed, commencing from 06.03.2019.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. 15.
