This is a petition filed under section 29 A (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator for a period of 6 months in order to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish the Arbitral Award.

The mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator expired on 14.03.2025. 3.

It is stated that the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of the final arguments of the respondent.

For the said reason, issue notice. Ms. Shreya Nayar, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and has no objection to the petition being allowed.

I am satisfied that sufficient cause for the delay has been shown. 6.

In this view of the matter, the petition is allowed and the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator is extended for a period of 6 months from today to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish the Arbitral Award. 7.
