The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to the respondents to grant the petitioner pension under Swatantrata Sainik Samman Yojna (SSS Yojna). The petitioner claims that she is the widowed daughter of the freedom fighter Late Shri Lal Chand. 3.

The petitioner's father was recognised as a freedom fighter and was accorded the pension under SSS Yojna. The petitioner's father expired on 03.07.2004 and after his demise, pension under the said scheme was given to his widow (the petitioner's mother) Late Smt. Hardei. The petitioner's mother expired on 18.12.2018.

The petitioner now claims that the said pension be disbursed to her.

Mr Kant, learned counsel who appears for the respondent has produced a copy of the scheme which clearly indicates that the pension under the said scheme is available to a freedom fighter, his widow or unmarried daughters. The scheme also specifies that only one person would be entitled to the pension. In view of the above, the petitioner is not entitled to pension under the SSS Yojna and the relief as sought for cannot be granted.

The petition is, accordingly, dismissed.
