O R D E R

The present petition alleges wilful disobedience of the orders dated 21.01.2025 and 06.05.2025 passed in W.P.(C) 15127/2022. 2.
Vide the aforesaid order dated 21.01.2025, directions were issued mandating expeditious action to verify documents for initiating reference proceedings under Sections 30-31 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894. Subsequently, on 06.05.2025, a clarificatory order was passed stating that the Land Acquisition Collector (LAC) was the appropriate and competent authority to initiate the reference and liberty was granted to the petitioner to approach the LAC for the said purpose.

The allegation in the petition is that despite the petitioners approaching the LAC office on multiple occasions, no action was taken to initiate the reference proceedings.

Learned counsel for the respondent, who appears on advance notice, submits that an appropriate communication has been sent by the LAC to the Reference Court for initiation of the reference proceedings. It is assured and undertaken that the matter shall be diligently followed up to ensure that the reference proceedings are commenced expeditiously.

It is further assured and undertaken that copy of the communication sent to the Reference Court shall be shared with the petitioner within a period of two days from today.

Taking the aforesaid undertaking of the respondent on record, the present petition is disposed of.
