% 08.05.2025 CRL.M.(BAIL) 588/2025 (seeking grant of bail on medical grounds) 1.
The Applicant is presently on interim bail granted by this Court by order dated 19th February, 2025 in BAIL APPLN. 4668/2024, which has been extended from time to time and the extended period is due to expire today.

At the outset, Mr. N. Hariharan, Senior Counsel for the Applicant, urges that the interim bail granted to the Applicant be extended, taking into account that his health condition. Mr. Hariharan states that the Applicant has been advised strict bed rest.

opposes the aforenoted request.

In view of the circumstances, the Court proceeded to hear the main application for regular bail. After making some submissions, Mr. Hariharan, on instructions, states that the prayer for regular bail is not being pressed at this stage and confines the request to an extension of interim bail on humanitarian and medical grounds.

In light of the above, the application for regular bail is dismissed as withdrawn. However, the interim bail granted to the Applicant is extended for a further period of two weeks from today, on the same terms and conditions as order dated 19th February, 2025 in BAIL APPLN. 4668/2024. The relief is granted solely on medical grounds, considering that the Applicant was discharged from the hospital yesterday and has been advised bed rest. Upon expiry of the said period, the Applicant shall duly surrender before the concerned authorities.

In light of the submissions made by Mr. Hariharan in CRL.M.(BAIL) 588/2025, the present application is dismissed as withdrawn. 8.
Copy of the order be sent to the Trial Court for necessary information and compliance.
