% 09.02.2018 Vide the present petition, the only grievance raised by the petitioners, is that the respondents are not taking steps to hold byelection to the Constituency of 02-Bijepur (General) Assembly Constituency, Odisha, which according to the petitioners are due since August, 2017.

On the last date, Mr.Chopra, learned counsel for the respondent no.1, had sought time to get instructions regarding the time frame in which the respondents would propose to hold the by-election. Today, Mr.Chopra has handed over a press note declaring that the schedule for the by-election to fill the casual vacancy in the State Legislative Assembly of Odisha, has been issued according to which the process has already been set into motion and the polling is fixed for 24th

February, 20s18. The press note is taken on record and the respondents are directed to take steps to hold the by-election in terms of the schedule laid down in the press note.

In view of this press note, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the prayer of the petitioners, stands satisfied and the petition may be disposed of.
