With the consent of the counsel for the parties, the matter is taken up for final hearing and disposed of today itself. 4.
The limited grievance of the petitioner is that after issuance of Letter of Intent (LOI) and the response thereto by the petitioner, there has been no movement in the matter.

It is required to be noticed that the decision to issue LOI was taken by the Northern Regional Committee (NRC) in its meeting held between 17th and 19th December, 2018. The petitioner took nearly 11 months to file its response. The response was filed on 8.11.2019. W.P.(C) 2230/2020 1/2

The petitioner, now, seeks an order from this Court to direct the NRC to take the next steps in the matter as per National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2014 (hereafter referred to as "2014 Regulations") and extant provisions of the law before the cut-off date fixed qua academic session 2020-21. 7.
To be noted, there is no explanation rendered by the petitioner's counsel as to why there was a delay of 11 months in responding to the LOI. 8.
In these circumstances, the maximum that can be done in the matter is to direct the concerned regional committee i.e. NRC/Western Regional Committee (WRC) to take further steps in the matter in accordance with 2014 Regulations and extant provisions of the law within reasonable time, though, not later than 12 week from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.

The writ petition is disposed of in the aforementioned terms. 10.
Resultantly, pending application shall stand closed. 11.
