The present petition has been filed by the Petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, inter alia, seeking directions to the New Delhi Municipal Council (hereinafter, 'NDMC'), to release the seized goods of the Petitioner.

The case of the Petitioner is that, he is a street vendor, who is stated to be vending at the vending site i.e., Opp. Shop No.1, beside DMS Booth, Babu Market, Sarojini Nagar Market, New Delhi (hereinafter, 'the vending site'). 4.

On 18th March, 2026, an enforcement drive was conducted during which 3 gunnybags of handloom items of the Petitioner were seized by the area Inspector, Sarojini Nagar Market.

Mr. Sriharsha Peechara, ld. Standing Counsel for NDMC submits that the goods of the Petitioner were seized because the Petitioner was exceeding the permissible area for vending.

Ld. Counsel for the Petitioner submits that the Petitioner undertakes not to exceed the area of the vend at the vending site. 8.

Heard. Accordingly, it is directed that subject to the above undertaking, the seized goods of the Petitioner shall be released, upon payment of usual charges to the NDMC.

The release of Petitioner's goods shall be effected within two days from this order.
