The petitioners assail communications issued by the respondents no. 2 and 3- EdCIL India Limited ("EdCIL"), by which EdCIL informed them that their services shall stand terminated on 31.03.2025, unless otherwise communicated in writing.

By order dated 20.03.2025, EdCIL was directed to apprise the Court of the position with regard to the petitioners' services. 3.

Ramaswamy, learned Central Government Standing Counsel, appears on behalf of EdCIL. He submits that no final decision has yet been taken and the writ petition is, in fact, premature. He states that a final decision will be taken only after 31.03.2025, and the petitioners' services will not be terminated before the final decision is taken.

In view of this submission, the petitioners' apprehensions stand allayed. services, it is directed to give two weeks' notice thereof to the petitioners so that they may invoke the remedies available to them in law. 5.

Mr. T.N. Tripathi, learned counsel for the petitioners, submits that the petitioners have also sought regularisation in this writ petition, as they have been serving in EdCIL for long periods, ranging from 12 to 17 years, as contractual employees.

The petitioners have made a representation for this purpose only on 10.03.2025. Having regard to this position, EdCIL is directed to consider their representation and pass a speaking order in accordance with law within a period of two months from today.

The rights and contentions of the parties are reserved. 8.

The writ petition, along with the accompanying application, is disposed of.
