CORAM:
HON'BLE MS. JUSTICE INDERMEET KAUR
O R D E R
% 23.01.2018 Parties are seeking quashing of the present FIR. The FIR No. 974/2017 registered under Sections 308/323/506/34 IPC at PS Nand Nagari on the complaint of respondent No. 2. In the course of the investigation it was revealed that injuries had been sustained by respondent No.2 as also respondent No. 6. The injuries are simple in nature. The victims had been discharged on the same day from the hospital. This Court notes that the parties are closely related; they are also neighbours. It is stated that with the intervention of the family members and other senior members in the neighbourhood, the parties have amicably settled their disputes and now they have no quarrel left
with one another. They pray that the present proceedings be quashed. Learned counsel for the State under instructions from the investigating officer states that the investigation is yet at its initial stage. All parties are present. They endorse the statements made by their respective counsels.
This is a fit case where to secure the ends of justice the present proceedings needs to be quashed as no fruitful purpose would be served in continuing with this proceeding and it would only be an exercise in futility.
Accordingly, FIR No. 974/2017 registered under Sections 308/323/506/34 IPC at PS Nand Nagari and all proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
Petition disposed of.
