This is a petition filed under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of time for completion of arbitration and rendering of an award.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that upon disputes having arisen between the parties in relation to the employment agreement, the petitioner invoked arbitration and appointed the sole Arbitrator. He submits that despite the parties diligently participating in the arbitration proceedings, the same did not conclude within the prescribed time. In fact, on two earlier occasions on 07.05.2019 and 07.11.2019, the parties had approached this Court seeking extension DigitallySigned By:MANJU BHATT 17:29:24

of time for rendering of an Award. He further submits that since the mandate of the Arbitrator expired on 07.02.2020, the time for completion of proceedings and rendering of the award be extended for a further period of six months effective from 08.02.2020. 4.

Issue notice. Learned counsel for the respondents, who appears on advance notice, does not oppose the said prayer. 5.

Keeping in view the fact that much time and labour has already been invested in the proceedings, the time for completion of arbitration proceedings and rendering of award is extended by six months reckoned from 08.02.2020. The mandate of the learned Arbitrator is thus extended till 07.08.2020.
