O R D E R

% 15.03.2019 The present petition is for quashing of FIR No.0240/2017 dated 08.06.2017 lodged in P.S. Bhajanpura, New Delhi. The FIR arises out of matrimonial relationship between the petitioner no.1/husband and the respondent no.2/wife. It is stated that the parties have entered into a mediated settlement dated 16.01.2018, under which they have re-conciled and resumed their matrimonial relationship. They have been living together for over one year pursuant to the settlement. The petitioners and the respondent no.2 are all personally present in Court as is the Investigating Officer. I.O. has identified the parties and verified the contents of the petition. An affidavit of respondent no.2 dated 11.01.2019 has also been placed on record, and the parties have confirmed before this Court that they have entered into the settlement of their free will CRL.M.C. 1435/2019

and volition and have not been pressurised or coerced in any manner. In the circumstances, no useful purpose would be served in keeping the criminal proceedings alive. Consequently, the FIR No. 0240/2017 dated 08.06.2017 in P. S. Bhajanpura, New Delhi is hereby quashed. The petition is allowed in the aforesaid terms.
