By way of the present petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR bearing no. 269/2022, registered at Police Station Karawal Nagar, Delhi for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 354/354A/354B/406/ 34 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter „IPC‟). 2.

The petitioner and respondent no. 2 are present before this Court in person. They have been identified by their counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Karawal Nagar, Delhi. 3.

Briefly stated, facts of the present case are that the marriage between petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 was solemnized on 20.11.2022, as per The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

Hindu rites and rituals. No child was born out of the said wedlock. After some time, due to some temperamental differences, both the parties had started residing separately since 25.02.2021. Thereafter, on the basis of complaint filed by respondent no. 2, the present FIR was registered against the petitioner under the relevant sections. It is however stated that during pendency of the present case, with the intervention of friends and family, both the parties had amicably settled their dispute before Mediation Centre, Dwarka Courts, New Delhi dated 13.04.2023, entered between them and had also obtained decree of divorce, by way of mutual consent, from the concerned Court.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2, who has been identified by the concerned IO, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated by respondent no. 2 that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between the parties. Further, it is stated that she has received remaining amount of Rs.65,000/- by way of Demand Draft bearing No. 004778 dated 11.03.2026 drawn on Axis Bank, as per settlement towards her claims with respect to matrimonial obligations. Therefore, she has no objection, if the present FIR is quashed. 5.

This Court notes that the present FIR emanates from the matrimonial dispute. The parties are divorced.

Further, respondent no. 2, who is present before the Court states that despite petitioner having being re-married, he alongwith his family is still harassing her. She prays that she should not be harassed in any manner by the petitioner and his family members.

The petitioner, who appears in person, undertakes that neither he nor The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

his family members will ever approach the respondent no. 2, her family members or any other person in connection of the respondent no. 2. and will not misuse any document, in their possession or otherwise. 8.

In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 9.

Accordingly, FIR bearing no. 269/2022, registered at Police Station Karawal Nagar, Delhi for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 354/354A/354B/406/34 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

In view of the above, the present petition stands disposed of. 11.
