This is a petition filed by the Petitioner/Claimant-GAIL (India) Ltd. under Section 29A (4) and 29A (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking an extension of the mandate of the ld. Arbitrator. 4.

It is the case of the Petitioner that it entered into a Gas Transmission Agreement (hereinafter, 'GTA') on 5th April, 2017. Disputes arose between the parties and on 11th December, 2019 the ld. Sole Arbitrator was appointed to adjudicate the dispute. The Ld. Arbitrator was appointed in terms of Clause 16 of the GTA. The arbitrator entered reference on 9th September, 2021. Ld. Counsel for the parties submit that the final arguments in the matter are likely to conclude this week itself. Accordingly, the mandate is extended by another three months.
