This petition has been filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ["the Act"], seeking extension of the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator, who is in seisin of disputes between the parties.

The learned Arbitrator was appointed pursuant to an order dated 13.08.2021, passed by this Court in ARB.P. 23/2021. It is stated in the petition that the mandate of the learned Arbitrator has expired in February 2024. I am informed that the proceedings are at the stage of final arguments.

Mr. R.K. Dhawan, learned Central Government Standing Counsel, appears on advance notice on behalf of the respondent, and states that the respondent has no objection to the relief sought. 4.

Although the petition seeks extension of the mandate by a period of six months from February 2024, learned counsel for the parties jointly request that the mandate of the learned Arbitrator be extended till 31.12.2024.

With the consent of learned counsel for the parties, the petition is allowed and the mandate of the learned Arbitrator is extended till 31.12.2024.

The petition stands disposed of in these terms.
