The present petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking restoration of the domestic electricity connection in respect of residential property No. 291/21, Sonia Gandhi Camp, Pul Prahaladpur, Tughlakabad, M.B. Road, New Delhi-110044.

Learned counsel for respondent No.2 appears on advance notice and submits that an amount of Rs.56,834/- is outstanding from the petitioner in respect of the aforesaid electricity connection and hence, the same was disconnected. He further submits that subject to the petitioner applying afresh and clearing the aforesaid arrears, and subject to completion of the usual formalities, the petitioner shall be granted the electricity connection. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is agreeable to pay a sum of Rs.56,834/-. However, he submits that out of the said amount, Rs.26,834/- can be paid immediately and the remaining amount of Rs.30,000/- shall be paid in two monthly instalments together with the regular monthly bills that will be raised by the respondent. 4.

The aforesaid is acceptable to the learned counsel for the respondent. 5.

Accordingly, it is directed that subject to the petitioner paying Rs.26,834/- to the respondent No.2 within a period of one week from today, the petitioner's fresh application seeking installation of a domestic electricity connection in the aforesaid premises, shall be processed and the electricity connection shall be granted expeditiously. 6.

Further, the remaining amount of Rs.30,000/- (out of Rs. 56,834/-) payable to respondent No.2 towards arrears shall be paid in two equal instalments of Rs.15,000/- each which will be added in the regular bill that shall be raised by respondent No.2 upon the petitioner. 7.
