By way of the present writ petition, the petitioner is seeking following prayers:

"I. Allow the present Petition preferred by the Petitioner under Article 226 & 227 of the Constitution of India, 1950 read with section 528 of The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (Analogues with 482 Code of Criminal Procedure,1973) and direct the Ld. ASJ-01, South District, Saket Court, New Delhi, to dispose the matter pending before it, bearing number SC no. 179/2022, arising out of FIR no. 159/2022, registered at PS: Maidan Garhi;

II. Direct the Ld. ASJ, South District, Saket Court, New Delhi to conduct day-to-day trial of the case abovementioned;

III. Direct the Ld. ASJ(FTSC)(POCSO), South District, Saket Court, New Delhi to summon and examine the public witnesses in a time-bound manner"

Issue notice. The learned ASC accepts notice on behalf of the State. 5.

The learned for the victim is also appearing through videoconferencing. 6.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that petitioner has been in judicial custody for the last about 4 years, and out of 19 witnesses cited by the prosecution, only 2 witnesses have been examined so far before the learned Trial Court.

Considering the overall facts and circumstances of the case, the learned Trial Court is requested to expedite the trial and conclude the same within a period of one year from the date when the matter is fixed before it. 8.

Accordingly, the present petition stands disposed of with above directions.

Copy of this order be forwarded to the concerned Trial Court for information and compliance.
