O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 86/2020 1.
This is a petition under Section 29A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of time for completion of arbitration proceedings and rendering of the award. 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that upon disputes having arisen between the parties, the matter was referred to arbitration by an order dated 13.05.2018 passed by this Court. He submits that though the parties have been diligently appearing before the learned Arbitrator, the proceedings have yet not concluded. He therefore, prays that the time for completion of the proceedings and rendering of award be extended for a period of six months reckoned DigitallySigned By:MANJU BHATT 16:48:49
from 21.01.2020.
3.
Issue notice. Learned counsel for the respondent accepts notice and does not oppose the petition.
4.
Keeping in view the fact that much time and labour has already been invested in the proceedings, the time for completion of arbitration proceedings and rendering of an award is extended for a period of six months reckoned from 21.01.2020. The mandate of the learned Arbitrator is thus extended till 20.07.2020. 5.
The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. REKHA PALLI, J MARCH 03, 2020 gm DigitallySigned By:MANJU BHATT 16:48:49
