CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE A.K. PATHAK

O R D E R

% 23.01.2018 Respondent no.2 is present in Court along with his counsel and has been identified by SI Sunil Chandra of police station Tilak Nagar. Respondent no. 2 says that he has settled the matter with petitioner of his own free will, voluntarily and without any undue force, pressure or coercion before the Delhi Mediation Centre, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi on 01.09.2016.

Respondent no. 2 submits that he has no objection in case FIR is quashed. Respondent No. 2 says that he has received a demand draft (No. 012992 dated 17.01.2018) from the petitioner. Respondent No. 2 says that with this payment entire settled amount stands paid.

Keeping in view the settlement arrived at between the petitioner and respondent no. 2 voluntarily, I am of the view that no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, FIR No.144/2008 under Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, registered at police station Tilak Nagar, is quashed. Petition is disposed of in the above terms.

Miscellaneous application is disposed of as infructuous. Dasti. A.K. PATHAK, J JANUARY 23, 2018 SRwt
